Anna Shavit holds a Ph.D. in political science and works as Assistant Professor at Charles University in Prague, in the Department of Marketing Communication and Public Relations. Her research fields are political marketing (with a focus on relations with political parties, citizen participation and the democratic process), government communications (especially as concerns the Czech environment) and electoral campaigns (campaign professionalism, the role of political consultants, etc.). Along with a colleague, she came up with a successful strategy for the Slovak political party SaS, an electoral outsider that ended up in second place in the 2015 Slovak elections. She has worked many times in the Western Balkans and she is an expert on several different political environments. Anna is former Fulbright scholar (Columbia University New York 2007/2008). She is currently editing a book, tentatively entitled Current Trends in Political Marketing.
